The Department of Agricultural and Resource Economics, Institute of Agriculture, The University of Tennessee, Knoxville (https://arec.tennessee.edu/) is looking for an excellent candidate for the Greever Endowed Chair of Agribusiness Development. This is an open rank position (12-month tenure-track, 100% Extension). See attached for more details.
The Greever Endowed Chair of Agribusiness Development is an excellent opportunity to establish a nationally renowned Extension program focused agribusiness and economic development.
The successful candidate will be expected to: 1) develop a nationally- recognized Extension program focusing on one or more of the following: agribusiness development, entrepreneurship, and/or economic development; 2) publish in quality disciplinary and multidisciplinary, peer-reviewed journals and Extension publications; 3) acquire extramural funding; 4) mentor and supervise undergraduate and graduate students; 5) potential to teach a graduate or undergraduate course in the Department of Agricultural & Resource Economics, and 6) participate in the service activities of the Department, College, University, and profession.
The expected start date is January 1, 2026.
