The Agricultural Risk Policy Center (ARPC) at North Dakota State University seeks a Senior Research Economist (Research Assistant Professor rank) to lead cutting-edge policy research on agricultural risk management.
This is a fantastic opportunity for early-career professionals or recent Ph.D. graduates looking to make an impact in agricultural economics and policy analysis.
🔎 Key Responsibilities:
✅ Develop predictive models to assess the impacts of ag risk management policies
✅ Conduct empirical analysis on crop insurance participation and subsidy rates
✅ Produce policy reports and collaborate with stakeholders, policymakers, and industry experts
✅ Engage in interdisciplinary research and contribute to national policy discussions
📌 What We’re Looking For:
🔹 Ph.D. in agricultural economics, economics, or related fields (by start date)
🔹 Expertise in empirical policy evaluation and econometric modeling
🔹 Experience with farm-level RMA data or similar detailed datasets
🔹 Strong ability to translate research into actionable policy insights
📅 Start Date: June 1, 2025 (or as negotiated)
