Working Group Leader for Global Economic Modeling of Land Use, Agriculture, and Food (E14)
who maintains and applies partial, sectoral or general economic equilibrium models with passion and expertise, and develops them further in terms of content and methodology. In your role, you strengthen the research profile of the group, actively participate in cooperative research projects at the institute and in the faculty and university, network in the international research landscape and represent the research field in teaching. You conduct research on global issues of land use, agriculture and food, e.g., on environmental services, climate change and sustainability of the agri-food industry and planetary health.
Your tasks
Maintenance and further development of a global macroeconomic model with details on land use, agriculture and nutrition, including database, software and documentation
Acquisition of competitive third-party funding and associated project management, especially in research networks of the faculty
Establishment of a research group and supervision of early-career-researchers
Guiding the IT staff at the Institute in the procurement and maintenance of the hardware and software required for the application and development of the models represented by the group.
Teaching in the field of economic modeling to the extent of 4 hours per week during the teaching periods in English

Your profile
PhD in agricultural economics or related disciplines
Experience with multi-market and/or general equilibrium models and an algebraic modeling language such as GAMS or GEMPACK
Experience with at the implementation but preferably also in the acquisition and management of third-party funded projects
Publication record commensurate with career status
